“A New Hope" opened at Arthur Roger Gallery in New Orleans on May 5, 2007. The title came from Star Wars: A New Hope (1977), the first film of the franchise. The show was made up of paintings in bole (clay) and gold leaf, video, and two stages: one with the lights and drum set of the rock band KISS, and the other with the Mike Douglas Show. Boyd costumed as the drummer of KISS, Peter Criss, with a Snow White model, who was photographed by artist Andres Serrano. It was meant to be the fourth episode in the “Romantika” visual opera series.
