Batman Dracula opened at Arthur Roger Gallery in New Orleans on January 8, 2005. The title came from Andy Warhol’s 1964 film of the same name, which starred one of Boyd’s long-time friends, Robert Heide, and was photographed by another friend of Boyd's, Billy Name. The exhibition was made up of paintings on aluminum of Playboy Magazine inspired models, a video, and found objects. The inspiration for the show came during a trip to New York with Boyd’s friend, Andres Serrano, who brought him to a party at Christie’s Auction House in New York for the sale of Hugh Hefner’s collection. This was a smaller installation for Boyd, which he considered the first of his “Chamber Music”.
