After photographing Warden Burl Cain for “Louisiana Cereal”, Boyd came up with the idea of a photo series focusing on the people that make up life at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola, in St. Francisville. The portraits include the wardens, guards, and prisoners, with a large portion dedicated to the biannual prison rodeo, which is the longest running prison rodeo in the United States.
