“Zombie Katrina” opened as a two-part exhibition on April 6, 2013, at Boyd Satellite Gallery in New Orleans. The installation included paintings, enlarged Polaroid portraits, watercolours, and found objects. The exhibition built upon a Polaroid project that Boyd started in Los Angeles in 2012.
