“Louisiana Cereal” was a Polaroid project shot between 2007 and 2020. The project originally began in 1992 as a photobooth series called “Louisiana Serial,” for the serial frames of the photobooth photos. The media and title evolved after Hurricane Katrina. Boyd created about six hundred portraits in total, of people from Louisiana, who lived in Louisiana, or had some significant contribution to the state. The portraits were shot on a Polaroid Macro 5 SLR camera, using original Polaroid Spectra film which expired between 2008-2009. Boyd refrigerated the film in an attempt to preserve it until the completion of the project. The series includes portraits of first responders, politicians, and celebrities ranging from Stormy Daniels to Brad Pitt with his Make It Right campaign.
